Welcome! Nice to meet you
I’m a postdoctoral teaching and learning fellow scientist working in the Master of Data Science program at the University of British Columbia. My past research interests include ecotoxicology, specializing in Pesticide Risk Assessment where I used a model to simulate the environmental fate of pesticides.
In order to address the challenges of my Ph.D, I got very involved in programming. Along the way I realized the importance of high quality software, even more when model results are influential in decision making processes. That is why, in recent years my main interests have been code reproducibility, interactive data visualization, and software development.

Lately…
In the Master of Data Science program I have the opportunity to explore different technologies and teach to a diverse group of students from all over the world. My long-standing passion for education prompted me to complement my teaching studies with the inquiry into specific didactics of programming in different courses. I have been active in organizational and mentorship capacities for tech communities, such as ReproHack and R-Ladies global.
